The Lizzie Bear Project is a crafty way to make bear beanies (and other bear goodies) for babies who are spending time in the NICU. The NICU stay can be a scary time for parents but a little bear beanie will put a smile on their face and maybe forget about the stress for a moment.
It’s simple, make bear beanies and share the love! That is what this project is all about, sharing some bear beanie love! Do you know of someone who would love a bear beanie? Or a new bundle of joy on the way or just born? Really these can be made for anyone, not just NICU babies. Give your local hospital a call and see if they are accepting donations, the hospital where I donated was thrilled to have the donations, their only request was that the beanies were the size of a grapefruit. At first, I was like grapefruit, huh? But then I remembered that when Elizabeth was wearing beanies as a newborn, the beanies were perfect circumference but just a tad too long, that they became little eye masks!
