Gingerbread Beanie Crochet Pattern
The Gingerbread Beanie is the perfect holiday beanie for the whole family! My favorite Christmas time decoration is the gingerbread, everything gingerbread and gingerbread cookies are my favorite Christmas cookie too! What is your favorite Christmas decoration? If gingerbread is your favorite too or even if it isn’t you need to wear a gingerbread beanie this season or make one for your favorite person! This beanie is made up with simple crochet stitches and some sewing involved to make this gorgeous fun beanie!

Materials
- Yarn: Medium, Weight 4; Beige, White, Red and Black Yarn. Sample is made with Loops and Threads Impeccable (Soft Taupe, White, Cherry and Black)
- Hooks: H (5.00mm) & K (6.50mm)
- Tapestry Needle, Scissors and Measuring Tape
- 2 Black Buttons
Sizing
- Gauge: 12 Stitches and 10 Rows = 4”x4” (hdc)
- These measurements are approximated, measure head to get accurate sizing needed.

You Need Your K Hook, Beige and White Yarn
Start with Red Yarn, Make a Magic Ring,
Round 1: Ch 1, 7 sc in loop, join with a sl st in the 1st sc, pull tight. – 7
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. – 14
Round 3: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next st, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next st; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. – 21
Round 4: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 2 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 2 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. – 28
Round 5: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 3 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 3 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. – 35
CONTINUE TO THE SECTION OF THE SIZE YOU ARE MAKING
0-3 Months: (Circumference 13-14” and Height 5 – 5.5”)
Round 6: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next st and each st around, join. – 35
Repeat Round 6 until the beanie measures 5 inches tall for newborn or 5.5 inches tall for 1-3 months, ending the last round with white yarn. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
3-6 Months: (Circumference 15-16” and Height 6”)
Round 6: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 7 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 8 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. – 39
Round 7: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next st and each st around, join. – 39
Repeat Round 7 until the beanie measures 6 inches tall, ending the last round with white yarn. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
6-12 Months: (Circumference 16-18” and Height 6.5”)
Round 6: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 4 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 4 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. – 42

1-2 Years: (Circumference 18-20” and Height 7”)

Teen, Adult and Large Adult: (Circumference 22-23” and Height 7.5” Teen, 8” Adult and 8.5” Large Adult)
Round 6: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in next 4 sts, *2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in next 4 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. – 42
Round 7: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in the next 5 sts, *2 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in next 5 sts; repeat from*, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. – 49

Repeat Round 9 until the beanie measures 7.5 inches tall for teen, 8 inches tall for adult or 8.5 inches tall for large adult, ending the last round with white yarn. Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
Red Accent
You Need Your Tapestry Needle and Red Yarn
Start in the back of the beanie, weave around the beanie in a diagonal fashion. Start at the top of the white round, skip one stitch and weave in the yarn underneath the next stitch.
Eyes
You Need Your Tapestry Needle, 2 Black Buttons and Black Yarn
Sew two black buttons onto the beanie.
Cheeks (Make 2)
You Need Your H Hook and Red Yarn
Make a Magic Ring,
Round 1: Ch 1, 7 sc in loop, join with a sl st in the 1st sc, pull tight. – 7
Round 2: Ch 1, 1 hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around, end with 1 hdc in same st as ch 1, join. – 14
Fasten off and leave a long tail to sew into beanie.
Mouth
You Need Your Tapestry Needle and White Yarn
Start at one of the cheeks (try and make the start of the white hidden under the red cheek) go down diagonally about ½ inch – ¾ inch long. Then place two horizontal pieces about ½ inch – ¾ inch long, then place one more diagonal back up to the other cheek (hide the end of the white under the other red cheek). Fasten off and weave in all loose ends.
