Honeycomb Shawl Crochet Pattern
When I designed the Honeycomb Shawl crochet pattern, I wanted something that had an open lace look but it made with a medium weight yarn.
The Honeycomb Shawl is an over sized shawl so that you can wear it in a variety of ways. I made this shawl with Yarn Bee Fetching which has sent been discontinued but any medium weight yarn would be gorgeous with this texture.
Yarn Bee Fetching had about 10% metallic in yarn, so it gave it a shimmer, which made the texture stand out just a little more.

Materials
- Yarn: Medium, Weight 4; Example Made with Yarn Bee Fetching (Champagne)
- Yardage Used: 1,120
- Hook: K (6.50mm)
- Tapestry Needle, Scissors and Measuring Tape
Sizing
- Gauge: 14 Stitches and 16 Rows = 4”x4” (sc using K hook)
- Finished Measurement: 97” Wide and 20” Tall
Pattern Key
- St/Sts: Stitch(es)
- Sl St: Slip Stitch
- Ch: Chain
- Sc: Single Crochet
- Hdc: Half Double Crochet
Special Stitches
- Tr: Treble – Yarn over twice, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through two loops, yarn over and pull through two loops, yarn over and pull through last two loops.
Notes
- Chain 1 will count as a single crochet stitch.
- Chain 6 will count as 1 treble stitch and 2 chains.

Chain 307
Row 1: (RS) 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next ch and each ch across. – 306 sc
Row 2: Ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next st, *ch 5, skip 2 sc, 1 sc in next 3 sc; repeat from*, until last 4 sc, ch 5, skip 2 sc, 1 sc in last 2 sc. – 184 sc and 61 chs
Row 3: Ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in same st, skip next sc, *5 sc in next ch arch, skip 1 sc, 1 sc in next sc, skip 1 sc; repeat from* until last 2 sc, skip 1 sc, 1 sc in last sc. – 367 sc
Row 4: Ch 6 and turn, skip this st and next st, 1 sc in next 3 sc, *ch 5, skip 3 sc, 1 sc in next 3 sc; repeat from*, until the last 2 sc, ch 2, 1 tr in last sc. – 183 sc and 2 tr
Row 5: Ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in 1st tr, 2 sc in next ch 2 arch, skip 1 sc, 1 sc in next sc, *5 sc in next ch 5 arch, skip 1 sc, 1 sc in next sc, skip 1 sc; repeat from* until the last ch 2 arch, 2 sc in last ch 2 arch (of the ch 6 of the row before), 1 sc in the 4th ch of the ch 6 of the previous row. – 367 sc
Row 6: Ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next st, *ch 5, skip 3 sc, 1 sc in next 3 sc; repeat from* until the last 5 sc, ch 5, skip 3 sc, 1 sc in last 2 sc. – 184 sc and 61 chs
Repeat Rows 3-6 until the shawl measures approximately 20 inches tall or until desired length.
Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
